Departing Ephrata
This painting was done for Tom Cathcart, warbird pilot and master mechanic, director of the Museum of Flight restoration center, ex-roommate and longtime friend. Tom had been living in Ephrata WA so that he could work on his true passion, restoring the last intact Chance Vought F7U-3 Cutlass. We drove over to Ephrata from Everett WA, dinked around with the Cutlass, took a ton of pictures, and then returned to Everett via this ex-Yugoslav Air Force Soko 522 trainer. Tom was going to perform an annual inspection on the Soko, and the owner shadowed us in his T-28D Trojan, and we took some great air to air photo photos of each other. It was a really good day.
Original painting is not available for purchase. The painting is in the collection of Tom and Janet Cathcart.Acrylic on canvas 18 inches x 24 inches.
