One of my favorite things is watching seaplane operations at Kenmore Air Harbor on the north end of Lake Washington in Kenmore WA. It is home to an amazing variety of classic amphibians and seaplanes. Kenmore Air is one of the world's largest seaplane operators and is also the leading maintenance and restoration center for deHavilland Beavers and Otters. Just bring them a pile of parts, a bucket of money, and you too can fly away in a better than new classic aircraft. This painting is based on a hodgepodge of 25-year old instamatic shots that I would run across every few years, threaten to do a painting and always put away. The end result? I'm glad I finally worked up the energy to give it a go.
