In 1943, Alaska Star Airlines operated this Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar in Alaska between Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks. When introduced, it was the fastest (210 mph) twin engine airliner in the world and introduced a new level of comfort and safety.
