Midnight Express
This painting depicts the Museum of Flights B-52G, 59-2584 "Midnight Express" as it appeared during the Vietnam War. It is seen being serviced between missions at Anderson AFB, Guam just as a fully loaded B-52D takes off, leaving its signature trail of unburned JP4 fuel due to the use of water injection to increase engine thrust.
Original painting sold at auction for $10,000.00. The auction was held at the Museum of Flight located in Tukwila, Washington. All proceeds donated to the Vietnam Veterans Air War Commemorative Park Fund during its gala dinner.
