"Stratocruiser Washington"

 

This Northwest Orient Airlines Boeing Model 377 Stratocruiser is inbound to Seattle Tacoma Airport in the late 1950s. The pilot is giving the passengers a close look at a Mt. Ranier sunset. Equipped with the Bendix dual-scope X band radar in the chin radome, this ultimate expression of luxury air travel is nearing the end of its service life and retirement from the Northwest fleet in September 1960.
