In 1950, Col. Robert Lee Scott was the commander of the 36th Fighter Bomber Wing at Fürstenfeldbruck Air Base near Munich, Germany. Scott was the Author of " God is my co-pilot " which (also made into a Hollywood movie) chronicled his USAAF career and his WWII exploits with Lt. Gen. Claire Chennault's All Volunteer Group flying P-40's. Scott's F-84E was decorated with artwork commemorating his time with the "Flying Tigers."
