In the early 1950s, the United States Forest Service (USFS) used this Noorduyn Norseman for dropping smokejumpers, cargo, and seeding burned areas to control erosion. Designed as a bush plane, it was tough, carried a large load and was easy to maintain. In this scene the Norseman has just dropped a small fire crew and is observing a USFS Beach C-45/C-18S dropping supplies.
